National Weather Service previously predicted the Space Coast could receive 3-5 inches of rain

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Although Brevard County remains under a Tropical Storm Warning the National Weather Service has now predicted the Space Coast will get only about 1 to 2 inches of rain over the remainder of the weekend.

Previously, the National Weather Service predicted that the Space Coast could receive 3-5 inches of rainfall and potential wind impacts could be 39-57 mph.

This afternoon, the National Weather Service said showers were likely, mainly before 5 p.m. and mostly cloudy, with a high near 82. Northeast winds will be around 10 mph and the chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts will be between a tenth and a quarter of an inch possible.
For tonight, there’s a 40 percent chance of showers, mainly before 11 p.m., with mostly cloudy skies, with a low around 71. West northwest winds will be 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

■ Sunday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 88. West northwest wind 10 to 15 mph becoming north in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

■ Sunday Night: A chance of thunderstorms before 8 p.m. Mostly clear, with a low around 73. North wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light and variable in the evening. The chance of precipitation is 30%.

■ Monday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 87. Light and variable wind becoming east 5 to 10 mph in the morning.

■ Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 73. East wind around 5 mph becoming calm after midnight.

■ Tuesday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Sunny, with a high near 88. Light and variable wind becoming east 5 to 10 mph in the morning.

■ Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 74. East southeast wind 5 to 10 mph.

■ Wednesday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Sunny, with a high near 89. Light and variable wind becoming east 5 to 10 mph in the morning.

■ Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 74. East southeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming south after midnight.

Thursday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Sunny, with a high near 91. West southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming east in the afternoon.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 75. South southeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southwest after midnight.

 Friday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 92. West southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
