OBITUARY: Retired Boeing Director of Personel Haliday Williams Jr., 89, of Cocoa, Passed Away

married his high school sweetheart and they remained dedicated to one another for 47 years

In the year 1933 on January 6 in St. Louis MO a junior son was born to Haliday and Martha Rose Bronough. Haliday attended Simmons Elementary School and continued on to Sumner High School in St. Louis, then became a graduate of Tennessee State University on a full, 4-year athletic scholarship where he played basketball. As a young man, his ambitions were augmented with purpose and his quest in life became clear.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – In the year 1933 on January 6 in St Louis MO a junior son was born to Haliday and Martha Rose Bronough. Haliday attended Simmons Elementary School and continued on to Sumner High School in St. Louis, then became a graduate of Tennessee State University on a full, 4-year athletic scholarship where he played basketball. As a young man, his ambitions were augmented with purpose and his quest in life became clear.

After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, he would devote his energies toward building a career and raising a family.

In 1956, Haliday Williams Jr. married his high school sweetheart, Joyce Tanya Wilson, and they remained dedicated to one another for 47 years of marriage until her passing in 2003.

Haliday and Joyce were blessed to have 4 children; Brian, Barry, Brett, and Christy. In 1957, Haliday began working for the McDonnell Douglas Corporation which would later become Boeing Corporation.

During his time there, he received a hard-earned promotion and moved his family to Florida in 1986 where he continued to excel until he retired with the title of Director of Personnel in 1997.

Haliday Williams Jr. spent his retirement years enjoying time with his family, re-engaging with his lifelong passion of photography, and devoting free time to his local church.

He leaves behind four children: Brian, Barry, Brett (Chanda) Williams, and Christy.

Five grandchildren: Rachel (Tim) Betlach, Nick Williams, Jessica Williams, Jadyn Williams, and Chase Williams, and his very 1st great granddaughter, Sloane Betlach.
