BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Titusville Police Department’s Rebecca Hydorn has been honored as Brevard County Public Safety Telecommunicator of the Year.

Hydorn was recently presented the honor from the Brevard County Association of Chiefs of Police at their monthly meeting.

She has been dispatching 911 emergency calls for service for the Titusville Police Department and Titusville Fire Department for over 6 years.

She was the recipient of this award because of her dedication to serving the community as an outstanding telecommunicator, acting as a role model to her colleagues as a communications trainer, and her high-level performance during life and death emergency calls.

Hydorn’s calm composure, clearly composed direction, and utmost professionalism made her an obvious standout and well-deserving of the honor.

“Our department is truly grateful for Rebecca’s impressive work ethic and our citizens are in the absolute best hands when she answers the call,” said Titusville Deputy Chief of Police Todd Hutchinson.
