Port St. John Little League wins the District Championship in the 9-11 Division

WATCH: The 2022 Little League All-Star Tournament began over the weekend with games taking place throughout the Space Coast and the Friday Night Locker Room team of Steve Wilson and Orville Susong brought you the action on Space Coast Daily TV.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The 2022 Little League All-Star Tournament began over the weekend with games taking place throughout the Space Coast.

The Friday Night Locker Room’s Steve Wilson and Orville Susong bring you play-by-play action on Space Coast Daily TV from McLarty Stadium in Rockledge.

The 8-10 Softball tournament continued at Mitchell Ellington Park with the visiting Port St. John Little Leaguers meeting Rockledge LL. Rockledge’s Harmony Johnson and Taylor Henderson each scored twice, accounting for 4 of their team’s 6 runs.

However, Port St. John had multiple runs scored by Sophie Robison (2), KellyBelle Bono (3), Rya Parsons (3), Ella St. Germain (3), Emma Herold (3), Tinsley Mahoney (4), Mya Ulmer (4), and Maddy Gee (4). Tinsley Mahoney and Mya Ulmer combined on the mound for the 27-6 Port St. John win in 4 innings.

Meanwhile, over at Cocoa’s Stradley Park, the 9-11 Baseball division finished up with Merritt Island (visitors) meeting Mims and Cocoa (visitors) versus Port St. John.

On Field #1, Merritt Island’s Adrian Sherwood had a double and scored twice while Brennan Webb added two more runs and Brent Hill hit a home run before Mother Nature changed plans and dropped a ton of rain on the complex and lightning in the 4th inning.

Mims’ John Sandstrom hit a double, while Jackson Hubinger had a double and a run scored, and Tyler Minch hit a triple and scored twice. The game was halted in the 4th with Merritt Island leading 9-7.

On-Field #2, Port St. John’s Travis Taylor hit a double and scored while Bryce Crocker added 2 more runs.

Cocoa’s Jaxon McQueen hit a double and scored, but Port St. John led 6-3 when the rain and lightning halted the game at the end of the 4th inning.

Due to the current team win/loss records, these games have no bearing on the standings and will not be completed.

Port St. John Little League has won the District Championship in the 9-11 Baseball Division and will represent Florida District 22 in the Section 3 Tournament on July 9th at St. Augustine.
