BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Candidate for School Board of Brevard County District 2 Courtney Lewis stopped by the Mike Erdman Space Coast Daily TV studios in Merritt Island to speak on her campaign and the upcoming election season.

Lewis is a mom to a 6-year-old special needs first-grader. She also is the proud daughter of a police officer and an established local business owner in Merritt Island.

Lewis said her experience will help get spending in line for the school system.

“Having been responsible for managing multi-million dollar budgets, I’ll use my education and experience to be a good steward of local tax dollars,” said Lewis.

■ Parent’s rights Parents play a key role in their child’s education. You should have a role in your child’s education.

■ Community participation is a critical point in ensuring our schools thrive. Ensure your voice is heard at our schools.

■ Student Safety – Courtney will fight to ensure all students in the Brevard County school system are safe while they attend classes at all schools on the Space Coast.

■ Supporting Teachers –Courtney is committed to supporting educators who play a vital role in our children’s development.

■ Vocational Programs – Courtney believes additional vocational programs will help ensure our children and community thrives.

Cheryl McDougall, who was first elected in 2018,  currently holds the District 2 seat and is not running for re-election.
