Motorists should drive with extra caution through work zones

Brightline has announced that Sarno Road will remain closed to vehicle traffic at U.S. 1 until July 29 due to track construction. “As part of its ongoing high-speed rail project, contractors for Brightline will be closing Sarno Road at the railroad tracks on June 2 through July 29 at 7 p.m,” said a City of Melbourne official. BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Brightline has announced that Sarno Road will remain closed to vehicle traffic at U.S. 1 until July 29 due to track construction.

“As part of its ongoing high-speed rail project, contractors for Brightline will be closing Sarno Road at the railroad tracks on June 2 through July 29 at 7 p.m,” said a City of Melbourne official.

■ Eastbound Sarno Road Detour: Traffic will be directed to travel north on Apollo Boulevard. to Eau Gallie Boulevard, travel east on Eau Gallie Boulevard to U.S. 1 and travel south on U.S. 1 to Sarno Road.

■ Westbound Sarno Road: Traffic will be directed to travel north on U.S. 1 to Eau Gallie Boulevard, travel west on Eau Gallie Boulevard to Apollo Drive, and travel south on Apollo Drive to Sarno Road.

Motorists should drive with extra caution through work zones and adhere to posted detour signs and speed limits

Brightline is a privately run inter-city rail route between Miami and West Palm Beach, Florida that runs on track owned by Florida East Coast Railway. The new extension from West Palm Beach to Orlando International Airport is expected to open in 2023.
