Cocoa Beach Police, First Responders Save Woman’s Life After Life-Saving Measures

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – Two Cocoa Beach Police Officers are being credited with helping save a woman’s life over the past weekend.

Officers Emilio Rosa and Christie Bynum responded to the intersection of N. Atlantic Ave and W. Cocoa Beach Cswy. regarding an unresponsive woman slumped over at the wheel of her vehicle.

Officer Rosa and Officer Bynum determined that the woman had no pulse and was not breathing.

Falling back on their training, the Officers removed her from the vehicle and Officer Rosa began resuscitation efforts until regaining a pulse.

A short time later, Cocoa Beach Fire Department and Brevard County Fire Rescue arrived on-scene to assume the life-saving measures.

The woman was subsequently stabilized and transported to a nearby hospital for further medical attention.

“Thank you to the witnesses who called 9-1-1 and stayed to provide information,” said a city spokesperson.
“Another outstanding job by our first response personnel, to include our dispatchers in the 9-1-1 center!”
