BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Ferrell “Faye” Louise Nicholas, nee Ball, passed away on July 10, 2022, comforted by her family. She was 89 years old.

Born in Providence, Kentucky, Faye also spent several of her formative years in Chicago, later relocating to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and ultimately retiring in Cocoa Beach, Florida.

Along with her husband, John Nicholas, Faye was a longtime restaurateur in center-City Harrisburg at a popular dining establishment known as the Harris House Tavern. Faye worked the “front of the house,” while John did the cooking.

A masterful baker, Faye also prepared all of the restaurant’s desserts and confections – some from recipes, and others concocted from her own imagination.

Regardless, they were all delectable, and baking was indeed one of her many special gifts. Faye was incredibly thoughtful and generous and enjoyed donating to worthy charitable organizations and giving presents, for no particular occasion, to her daughters and granddaughter.

After “snowbirding” between Florida and Pennsylvania for a number of years, Faye and John made the permanent move to Cocoa Beach, Florida, in 2002, and their daughters and granddaughter soon followed.

Faye was truly adored by everyone with whom she came into contact, including the medical professionals and nursing staff and aides at her assisted living facility, Sonata at Viera East. They were able to experience and appreciate each facet of Faye’s personality, referring to her as “funny, spunky, and feisty.” They were also able to come to know Faye’s incredibly kind, sweet, giving, and loving nature.

Faye’s beloved husband, John, passed away in 2011, and her eldest daughter, Sherri, passed in 2013. Faye is survived by her daughters, Tanya Nicholas and Lisa Nicholas; granddaughter Desiree Nicole Simone; great-granddaughter Jasmine Kann; and her brother, William Robert “Bob” Ball of Evansville, Indiana.

A service will be held on Friday, July 15, 2022, at 11:30 a.m., at Florida Memorial Gardens, 5950 U.S. Highway 1, Rockledge, Florida, 32955.
