Palm Bay Police Explorers Post 597 Finishes Strong at the State Competition in Lake Mary

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Palm Bay Police Explorers Post 597 participated in the 2022 Florida Association of Police Explorers State Competition in Lake Mary.

“Our teams won first and second place in Marksman shooting and finished 12th place overall out of 29 other Explorer Posts,” said Palm Bay Police Department officials.

In addition, Sgt. Tobar won Advisor of the Year for his constant support and leadership of our police explorer program.

“Join us in congratulating our future police officers on a job well done and thank our post advisors for their dedication to our explorer program!” said Palm Bay Police Department officials.

The Palm Bay Police Explorer Post 597 was established in the early 1970s to develop a more positive relationship between police officers and the youth of the community.

The Explorers is one of the most exciting organizations in which a young person can be involved. Explorers are provided first-hand knowledge of law enforcement procedures.

The Explorers are chartered through the Boy Scouts of America and are sponsored by the Palm Bay Police Department.
