The Canaveral Port Authority Board of Commissioners’ Junior Ambassador Program enables students in Brevard County to learn about career opportunities at the Port and gain an understanding of workforce development and community outreach.

Students who are Sophomores and Juniors in Brevard County public schools, private schools and homeschoolers are eligible to apply for this program.

The application date for the upcoming session has been extended to August 15, 2022.

“We are excited to share this opportunity at Port Canaveral for Brevard students,” said Canaveral Port Authority Commissioner Robyn Hattaway.

“We have worked many hours to thoughtfully design a program to reach sophomores and juniors in Brevard County.

Canaveral Port Authority Commissioner Micah Loyd will join Commissioner Hattaway in administering this year’s program, which is set to begin later this summer.

“Workforce development is important to our Port’s future. This program provides local students with a great introduction to the variety of jobs and career opportunities that exist in the maritime industry,” said Commissioner Loyd.

“I look forward to working with the next class of Junior Ambassadors this fall.”

The Junior Ambassador Program provides students with the opportunity to meet with Port partners from the cruise, cargo, recreation, hospitality, and environmental business sectors.

The students prepare a final project presentation to highlight what they have learned and will share their presentations with the Port Commission and students at their schools.
