Two Men Indicted for First-Degree Murder by Brevard County Grand Jury

The Brevard County Grand Jury indicted 48-year-old Cory Lyle (left) for First-Degree Felony Murder, Armed Burglary of a Dwelling, two counts of Grand Theft Firearm plus one count of Grand Theft. BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Grand Jury indicted 48-year-old Cory Lyle for First-Degree Felony Murder, Armed Burglary of a Dwelling, two counts of Grand Theft Firearm plus one count of Grand Theft.

In another case, the jury also indicted 25-year-old Amos-Alize Jones Jr. for two counts of First-Degree Premeditated Murder, one count of Attempted First-Degree Premeditated Murder, and Armed Burglary of a Dwelling.

Lyle was identified by Brevard County Sheriff’s Deputies as the person who shot and killed Joseph Hall (64), on June 9, 2022, while at his home on Hunt Drive in Merritt Island.

Lyle remained in the residence taking several items before fleeing. Using security video and witness testimony, a warrant was obtained for Lyle’s arrest.

He was taken into custody and held without bond on June 11, 2022.

Jones was identified by Titusville Police as the person who shot three people on June 10, 2022, at a tent located on a vacant lot on S. Brown Avenue.

Jones killed 58-year-old Eileen Marconi-Rodgers and 24-year-old Jazmyn Davis, while critically injuring 47-year-old Housai Walker.

When police responded to reports of gunshots, they found Walker badly wounded but able to identify his attacker as “Amos”.

Brevard County Grand Jury indicted 25-year-old Amos-Alize Jones Jr. for two counts of First-Degree Premeditated Murder, one count of Attempted First-Degree Premeditated Murder, and Armed Burglary of a Dwelling.

Police later positively identified Jones as the person described by Walker and linked him to the crimes using witness testimony and physical evidence. He was taken into custody and held without bond on June 10, 2022.

The Grand Jury heard testimony from Investigators with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, Titusville Police, and the Brevard County Medical Examiner before returning the indictments.

Lyle and Jones will continue to be held on No Bond at the Brevard County Jail.

No trial dates have been set in these cases.
