Florida Tech Panthers Hire Trent Arnold as Assistant Director of Athletic Compliance

Arnold brings a passion for college athletics which will greatly benefit our athletes

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech Associate Athletic Director for Scholar-Athlete Services/SWA Jen Mercuio announced the hiring of Trent Arnold as the Associate Director of Athletic Compliance.

“We are very excited for Trent to join the Florida Tech Athletic Department,” said Mercurio.

“He brings a passion for college athletics which will greatly benefit our scholar-athletes, coaches, and staff.

“Trent has great energy and brings new ideas that will be of value to the entire athletic department.”

In his role, Arnold will assist coaches with interpretations, monitor eligibility, advise and counsel scholar-athletes on eligibility, and assist with the overall monitoring of compliance rules. He will also monitor and maintain our Teamworks and Frontrush accounts.

“I am glad to call Florida Tech my new home!” exclaimed Arnold.

“I am excited to start my new journey here and can’t wait to hit the ground running. I would like to thank Jen Mercurio and Jamie Joss for this unbelievable opportunity to join the Panther family!”

Arnold comes to Florida Tech after serving as the Compliance Intern at the University of Dayton.

While at UD, he monitored the initial academic eligibility and amateurism for prospective scholar-athletes as well as team rosters, CARA logs, official and unofficial visits, and the academic eligibility for current scholar-athletes.

Additionally, Arnold was a Graduate Assistant for the Student Involvement and Leadership office at Wright State University. He assisted in developing leadership programs, events, and assessments for student leaders.

Arnold graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Leadership from Wright State in May 2015 and recently earned his Master’s in Education in May 2022.
