BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Titusville Fire Department was awarded a grant by the Jess Parrish Medical Foundation for the purchase of a LUCAS Device.

Once delivered, the Titusville Fire Department will have two of these in service.

This device is utilized on patients who require CPR. The LUCAS device delivers Guidelines-consistent, high-quality chest compressions at recommended rate and depth while allowing for chest recoil, and fewer interruptions, compared to manual CPR, leading to higher compression ratios and increased blood flow to the brain.

This provides great CPR and frees up personnel on the scene to perform additional tasks. This is especially helpful during transport to the hospital.

It is important, as good CPR is the foundation of resuscitation.

“This year alone, TFD has received over $25,000 in grant funding from the Foundation. We are grateful for the continued community partnership with the Jess Parrish Medical Foundation,” said Titusville Fire Department.
