Melbourne Police Respond to Armed Disturbance During Palm Bay vs. Bayside Football Game

Two adult subjects were located and taken into custody

Melbourne police officers working security for the Palm Bay vs. Bayside high school football game on Friday night were alerted to a vehicle located in the parking lot, with occupants wearing ski masks and possibly armed. According to a Melbourne police spokesman, officers located the vehicle and addressed the occupants inside, at which time the driver attempted to flee the area in their vehicle.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne police officers working security for the Palm Bay vs. Bayside high school football game on Friday night were alerted to a vehicle located in the parking lot, with occupants wearing ski masks and possibly armed.

According to a Melbourne police spokesman, officers located the vehicle and addressed the occupants inside, at which time the driver attempted to flee the area in their vehicle.

“The driver of the vehicle struck several other cars inside the parking lot while attempting to flee and ultimately the occupants exited the vehicle and took off on foot,” the police official said in a statement. “Two adult subjects were located and taken into custody.”

According to police, no one was injured during this incident, and this is thought to be an isolated event not directly related to Palm Bay High School, Bayside High School or any students or faculty.
