Merritt Island Mustangs Show Grit in Comeback Victory Over Holy Trinity in Home Opener, Defeat Tigers 3-1

ABOVE VIDEO: The Merritt Island Mustangs were definitely challenged by Holy Trinity, despite a 3-1 win Thursday night.
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Merritt Island Mustangs were definitely challenged by Holy Trinity, despite a 3-1 win Thursday night.
Holy Trinity came out strong out of the gate by winning the first set 25-21 and, at one point in the second set, the Tigers led the Mustangs 19-10. Immediately following the timeout, the Mustangs got back to true form and ended up winning the second set 30-32.
After that set, it was all Merritt Island as the Mustangs claimed third set 25-18, and fourth set 25-23.
The Mustangs (2-0) were led by senior middle blocker Cassie Martin who exhibited great leadership by helping spark the Mustangs to victory.
