Movie Review: What “Thor: Love and Thunder” Has Brought Us

Thor: Love and Thunder has been out on the big screen, and people are going crazy over it. The latest Thor film, released at the start of July, has broken box office worldwide. It has not only become a blockbuster in Hollywood but also around the world as well.
The movie is an adaptation of Marvel’s new comic book series about a female Thor, and its story reveals how she eventually became king. If you have watched the previous two movies, you will know that there were references to her storyline back then.
Marvel Studios’ Thor: Love and Thunder is a feast for the senses. With stunning visuals, an A-list cast, and a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat, it’s no wonder this movie is one of the most highly anticipated films of the year. While it may not be perfect, Thor: Love and Thunder is a must-see for any fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

What Thor: Love and Thunder Showed Us
It’s been a little over four years since we last saw Thor on the big screen, and in that time, the God of Thunder has undergone some changes. For one, he’s now wielding a new weapon, the Stormbreaker. He’s also lost his eye, which gives him a bit of a different look. But what hasn’t changed is Thor’s sense of humor or his love for Asgard. The movie is funny, action-packed, and full of heart. It’s everything we could have hoped for and more.
The New Characters
One of the things that Thor: Love and Thunder have brought us is a whole host of new characters. We have Jane Foster, now Thor, played by Natalie Portman. We also have Valkyrie, played by Tessa Thompson. Both characters are badass and bring a new level of excitement to the movie. These two women take charge in this film; their love story takes up most of it, making it more interesting than just another superhero flick.
But what really stood out was the introduction of Gorr The God (portrayed by Christain Bale. Yes, THAT CHRISTIAN BALE). His performance was on point, and he made a convincing and terrifying supervillain. In short, he is an intense character who left us wanting more after only being in the movie for about fifteen minutes!
Dialogue Made The Movie
One of the most important aspects of any movie is the dialogue. The words that the characters say can make or break a film. Thor: Love and Thunder is a perfect example of how great dialogue can elevate a movie. The banter between Thor, Loki, and Jane Foster was electric. It was funny, charming, and at times, heart-wrenching. This is a credit to the writers who crafted such rich dialogue and the actors who brought these words to life.
Idris Elba’s performance as Heimdall was also stunning. Every line he spoke felt like it came from deep within his soul. This film had many outstanding performances, but Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie may have been a favorite for all her excellent speeches about love and truth in battle. However, it is hard to pick a favorite because each actor did a fantastic job with their roles and making this movie what it is today: A masterpiece!
Things That Could Have Been Improved
The latest Thor movie had a lot of potentials. However, several things could have been improved. For example, the ending was not as satisfying as it could have been. Not enough time was spent on one character’s story. Another thing that could have been improved is how little time we spent with Heimdall at the end. In all honesty, he deserved more screen time than he did, considering his bravery throughout the film.
Parting Thoughts On Thor: Love and Thunder
If you’re a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, you’ll love Thor: Love and Thunder. It’s been a while since we’ve seen a Thor movie, but Thor: Love and Thunder is definitely worth the wait. It’s packed with action, humor, and heart, and it’s one of the best Marvel movies to date.
But if you haven’t yet caught up on all that has happened in the MCU, don’t worry. The film does an excellent job at catching viewers up on everything they need to know before jumping into this installment. There are plenty of Easter eggs for fans to spot and enough jokes sprinkled throughout the film to keep audiences entertained and engaged in this newest chapter in Thor’s story. We can’t wait for what comes next!
