Nate Diaz, an American MMA fighter, who has been entertaining fans in the UFC for years, is looking to face Khamzat Chimaev in his last match for the UFC. He was supposed to face Conor McGregor in the last match of his contract, but due to Conor’s injury, he will get a matchup against Chimaev.

Who are Diaz and Chimaev?

Diaz, who is also well versed in Jiu Jitsu, has a 3rd-degree black belt which he got training under Cesar Gracie. So far in his career, Diaz has fought in a total of 33 fights, winning 20 and losing 13. He used to be a fighter in the lightweight division, but due to his weight gain, he switched to welterweight.

Nate Diaz is a veteran in the game alongside his brother, Nick Diaz. While his UFC contract was coming to an end, he asked for his release or a big match for his final match, and now he gets to face Khamzat Chimaev.

Chimaev, on the other hand, is a Swedish Russian-born brutal fighter, who has never lost a bout in his career, both professionally and at the amateur level. Chimaev started out his career in wrestling before he started fighting in MMA, in 2018. He still competes in wrestling. He held the Swedish wrestling title 3 times in his career.

His record in wrestling so far is 23 wins out of 23 fights. So far in his professional MMA career, he has fought in a total of 11 fights and has won all of them. In his amateur career, he has fought in a total of 3 fights, winning all of them. He is currently in 3rd position, in the overall rankings of the welterweight division of the UFC.

Chimaev considered to be the favorite

On getting Nate Diaz as his opponent, Chimaev is all pumped up and ready to fight, sending threats to Diaz and boasting of his ability to beat him. Chimaev’s next fight was most likely going to be a welterweight championship, but he could not pass up the chance to face the veteran. If he wins the match, he then looks forward to facing whoever the welterweight champion will be, or he will move to the middleweight division to compete for the title there if he does not get his chance.

The blockbuster match that everyone has been waiting for between the pair will take place on September 10, 2022, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, United States. In what is sure to be a dream match for fans all over the world and people who enjoy UFC betting, the match will be nothing short of expectation as it is promised to bring everything from the two professional fighters; the experience of Diaz, and the fierceness and tenacity of Chimaev.

A Series of professionals and experts have all come up with odds, making predictions of who is more likely to win the game, mostly to aid the people that will be betting/placing wagers on whichever fighter in this matchup. The odds for the fight are as follows: -1250 odds for Chimaev to win and a staggering +800 odds for Diaz to win.

Concerns regarding the fight

As much as fans all over the world are excited and anticipating this very interesting matchup, some people are not convinced and are concerned about Diaz facing the brutal Chimaev.

Leon Edwards, a British MMA fighter who also competes in the welterweight division, is not of the opinion that Diaz should face Chimaev in his last match and should be given a proper sendoff. He believes that Diaz should be given a more friendly match after all his years of entertaining the fans in the UFC.

Some people think the fight is revenge against Diaz since he has been critical of the organization and UFC president Dana White for the past month. The president of the UFC has said that he and Diaz had talked about the fight being his final fight, and it was what he wanted. As far as he was concerned, there were no issues anywhere.

Conclusion

Nate Diaz will now look forward to his last match in the UFC against Chimaev, in which he has to be at his very best with all the odds stacked against him. They both promise to bring a good fight to the ring, and one that fans are very much looking forward to witnessing.
