Virginia was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Rockledge, Moved to Brevard 59 years ago

Virginia M. (Rasinowich) Hartselle, 91, of Rockledge Florida passed away on August 2, 2022. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Rockledge and settled in Brevard County 59 years ago.

BREVARD COUNTY • ROCKLEDGE, FLORIDA – Our beautiful mother, Virginia M. (Rasinowich) Hartselle, 91, of Rockledge Florida passed away on August 2, 2022.

She was born April 22, 1931, in Calumet, Michigan to Joseph and Marion (Renaldi) Rasinowich. She was united in marriage to Ted Hartselle, of Hartselle, Alabama, on February 7, 1953, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Calumet, Michigan, spending 53 loving years together until his death on December 24, 2006.

Virginia graduated from Calumet High School, class of 1948. Upon Graduation, she worked for Merchants and Miners Bank in Calumet Michigan, and played first base on the Calumet Girls Fast Pitch Softball team. During the winter months, she loved ice skating and playing on the Calumet Girls Basketball Team.

When Ted returned from his U.S. Air Force Tour of Duty in Korea they were united in marriage and left Calumet, Michigan. After marriage, they lived in 10 different cities all over the United States before finally settling in Rockledge 59 years ago.

Virginia retired from the Southland Corporation (7-11 convenience stores) office in Cocoa after 18 years where she was a Human Resources and Administrative Assistant. Virginia was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Rockledge for 59 years, a member of the St. Mary’s Senior Group, a member of the Cocoa Elks #1532 Ladies Auxiliary, VFW # 1434 Rockledge Ladies Auxiliary Life Member, American Legion Post # 22 Ladies Auxiliary, a 40-year member of a monthly Bingo Group at member’s homes, and a volunteer at the Rockledge Police Department.

Virginia enjoyed traveling with Ted as they visited all 48 contiguous states, all of the Canadian Provinces, Europe and Asia. Her favorite times were visits from one or all of the family members that she loved so dearly.

Her Family was the most important thing to her, and the entire family also traveled a lot with them. With seven children, she and Ted were very involved in all school activities, band parents, little league parents, Rockledge High School Football games, Troy State University football and band events along with any other school activities.

Virginia was also very involved with Rockledge Kiwanis Club events and co-coordinating the annual Brevard Yooper Picnics. Virginia was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and was devoted to her many friends. Virginia never knew a stranger.

She is survived by her loving children, Ted J. (Mona) Hartselle of Rockledge Fl, Michael (Josie) Hartselle of Jacksonville Fl., Laurie (John) Chapman of Viera Fl., Becky (Bob) Hartselle of Rockledge Fl., Patrick (Lisa) Hartselle and his former spouse, Lesley Hartselle, of Rockledge Fl., Todd (Dana) Hartselle of Apopka Fl, her sister-in-law’s Shirley Rasinowich, Martha Hartselle and Virginia Hatfield and brother-in-law Wallace Fowler.

Mema loved her Grandchildren Frank (Courtney) Webster, Dan Hartselle, Lisa Gonzalez, Mike (Kim) Hartselle, Christopher (Brooke) Hartselle, Craig Hartselle, Melissa (Curt) Chapman, Stephen (Meagan) Hartselle, Amber Hartselle, Whitney (Joseph) Bowers, Timothy Hartselle, Mirinda Hartselle, Thomas Hartselle, Rebekah Hartselle, Kyle Walker, Douglas Walker, Donovan Walker along with six great grand-children.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Marion (Renaldi) Rasinowich, husband Theodore (Ted), son Tim Hartselle, and brothers Ernest Rasinowich and Joseph Rasinowich.

In Lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Virginia’s honor to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1136 Seminole Drive, Rockledge Florida 32955.

Visitation will be held Monday, August 8, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home, 5400 Village Drive in Viera, Florida. A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Rockledge, on Tuesday, August 9 at 11 a.m.
