BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – I had a great time last week serving as the guest speaker for an amazing group of Brevard County Realtors during a lunch and learn styled event that was hosted by the Women’s Council of Realtors – Space Coast.

Unfortunately, in today’s world, we must be prepared for any situation, including the various scenarios that realtors find themselves in each and every day as they travel to unfamiliar places, meet potential clients who at times are complete strangers, and live their own personal lives as well.

The training discussed surviving an active shooter scenario, personal safety, and making yourself a hard target.

I truly can’t thank the Women’s Council of Realtors enough for recognizing the need for this type of training on personal safety and for also providing an opportunity for our realtors to learn about the various tools available to help keep them safe.

SHERIFF WAYNE IVEY: As a reminder to all of our citizens, our Crime Prevention Unit is available to help arm everyone with the knowledge they need to protect themselves from becoming crime’s next victim. (BCSO image)

A huge thank you to everyone who attended the event to learn about this very important topic and also to my friend Maria Dockery at Femme Fatale Arms for sharing her knowledge about the various tools available to help protect our ladies.

As a reminder to all of our citizens, our Crime Prevention Unit is available to help arm everyone with the knowledge they need to protect themselves from becoming crime’s next victim.
