Child Drowns at Backyard Pool Party in Titusville, Police Open Investigation

Titusville Police are investigating the drowning death of a female child at a residence located on the 2500 block of Christine Drive on Saturday, September 17.

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Titusville Police are investigating the drowning death of a female child at a residence located on the 2500 block of Christine Drive on Saturday, September 17.

The preliminary investigation revealed the child accidentally drowned in the backyard pool, which was occupied by other party attendees at the time of the incident, police say.

According to police, one of the adults at the party noticed a small child’s body on the bottom of the pool, pulled her out of the water and began life saving measures.

Police and emergency medical services responded to the scene at approximately 2:25 p.m. where then the child was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead at 3:08 p.m.

The incident remains under investigation by the Titusville Police Department and further details will be released upon its conclusion by investigators.
