BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida State Women’s volleyball player Paulina Dobreva and men’s soccer player Hayden Wood were named the Orlando Health Student-Athletes of the Week for the week ending Aug. 28.

Wood, a defender from Kent, England, headed a corner kick by Adrian Adrian to score his first goal of the season and the only goal of the game as the men’s soccer team posted a 1-0 victory against the College of Southern Nevada.

Wood helped the Titans post the shutout, playing a strong center defense.

Dobreva had a big week for the Titans averaging 2.7 kills per set in the six matches including a 20-kill game against Monroe College. The Madrid, Spain native also had two 14-kill performances during the week.

Dobreva and the Titans are off to their best start in five seasons at 7-2 this season and will be home Sept. 6 against Miami-Dade in the Suncoast Conference opener.

The men’s soccer team is 1-1 on the season and ranked 15th in the latest NJCAA Division I poll. The Titans will host Johnson University Thursday night at Orlando Health Stadium at 7 p.m.
