Romelia Farms is a 36-acre wildlife preserve located on a historic property in Merritt Island. The property itself dates back to the 1890s when it operated as an orange grove and later became one of Florida’s first alligator ranches.

Founded in 2021 with a mission to rescue over 150 animals from an uncertain future, Romelia Farms is committed to ensuring that the animals who reside on our property have their quality of life and welfare placed above all else.

“In support of this mission, we offer unique interactions with our animals through a guided, education-focused petting farm tour that’s fun for the whole family.

Along with the petting zoo, wildlife sanctuary and horseback riding, it also offers accommodations in private cabins, as well as a 3,000-square-foot barn, which now serves as the Barn Stall Winery & Wedding Barn. Take the scenic route behind the petting zoo through our private trail and enjoy the serenity of our 36-acre preserve from atop one of our horses.

Located in the heart of our wildlife preserve is The Watermill at Romelia Farms, an on-site wedding and event barn that provides the perfect backdrop to any wedding – whether you’re inviting 50 people or 200.

Romelia Farms Wildlife Sanctuary is located at 165 Gator Drive in Merritt Island, CLICK HERE for more information.
