Solaris Senior Living Merritt Island and St. Francis Reflections Lifestage Care will co-present a free Healthy Snacking seminar at 2 p.m. this Thursday, September 15. Solaris Senior Living Dietary Director Jayne Garcia, above, will discuss how healthy snacking can prevent overeating, help keep blood sugar levels steady, and more.

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Americans get an average of 24 percent of their calories from snacks, according to The Journal of Nutrition. With snacks providing this much of the day’s calories, choosing healthy options can prevent overeating and improve overall health.

Solaris Senior Living Merritt Island and St. Francis Reflections Lifestage Care will co-present a free Healthy Snacking seminar at 2 p.m. this Thursday, September 15.

The event will be held at Solaris Senior Living Merritt Island, located at 535 Crockett Boulevard on Merritt Island.

Solaris Senior Living Dietary Director Jayne Garcia will discuss how healthy snacking can prevent overeating, help keep blood sugar levels steady, and more.

“We’ll learn how snacking wisely can give us much-needed extra energy, help with weight loss, and curb afternoon slumps,” said Garcia.
