BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Ghosts and ghouls can walk the yellow brick road on Monday, Oct. 31, at Forest Lake Fright Night. The Wizard of Oz-themed event will benefit Harmony Farms, a not-for-profit, volunteer-based organization providing equine-assisted therapy and activities to disabled individuals of all ages to improve their physical, mental and emotional well-being.

The event will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at 1043 Worthington Spring Drive in Forest Lake Village in Suntree.

Christopher McDougall, the founder of the 25th annual event sponsored by Mullicans Handyman Service, Montessori Bilingual Academy of Rockledge, Fast Signs, Bonefish Willy’s Riverfront Grille, Tuffy’s Auto Repair of Suntree/Viera, said he does the event to honor his father’s memory.

“His birthday was on Halloween and we always did something together to celebrate his birthday. This year will be my final year, and I feel honored to raise funds for this charity,” said McDougall.

McDougall spends approximately three months preparing for the event which will have more than 50 animatronic figures, lights and a fireworks show.

Pam Rogan, Founder and Executive Director for the Cocoa-based non-profit Harmony Farms said, “We are trying to raise money for new fencing and a lift. We have several riders that can’t come back because they can’t get in the saddle that enables them to ride.”

McDougall is donating $2,500 of his own money to go toward the lift.

The first 100 kids will get a ticket to redeem for cotton candy from a food truck that will be at the event from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

There will be a locked box set up for the event and volunteers from Harmony Farms will be on-site to collect donations. There will also be a raffle for a chance to win an oil change from Tuffy of Suntree/Viera, a $100 gift card to Bonefish Willy’s Riverfront Grille event, and more. Parental guidance is advised.
