Dynamic Melbourne Rock Band Zeddemore to Open for Molly Hatchet Nov. 18 at Space Coast State Fair
By Space Coast Daily // October 28, 2022
BREVARD'S MOST POPULAR EVENT, SPACE COAST STATE FAIR OFFERS PAY-ONE-PRICE SPECIAL EVERY DAY
BREVARD COUNTY, VIERA • FLORIDA – Live music is back big time in Brevard. Zeddemore, a Melbourne-based rock band, will perform on Friday, Nov. 18, at 7 p.m. before Molly Hatchet takes over on the Budweiser Concert stage during the 36th annual Space Coast State Fair in Viera on Florida’s Space Coast.
“We are stoked to play the Space Coast State Fair before Molly Hatchet,” said Bradley Burton, one of the band’s leaders.
“We’ve had a busy year with music projects. Our drummer Alex Petrosky has been traveling the U.S with the Pat Travers Band, I’ve been working on a country band, our guitarist John was playing in a popular cover band called the Smashing Pixies, and we’ve all been writing new material for Zeddemore, which we are debuting at the fair.”
Formed in August 2016, after members Bradley Burton (The Heart Ring) and John Bridges (The Knick Knacks) had recently departed from local bands, the members started talking about creating a new project and reached out to Alex Petrosky (Local 518) and Brian Roberts (Dub321)
Immediately after the first jam session, there was a connection. Zeddemore’s music is dynamic, from crunchy rock riffs to driving epic-sounding drums and bass, with articulate vocals that speak of self-empowerment, perseverance, and love.
Influences range from classic rock bands like Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd to the alternative rock legends Incubus and Sound Garden, as well as music from pop, funk, and punk genres. The band released its first single, “Don’t Fear My Love,” in 2018, followed by their 5-track debut self-titled EP recorded at Melbourne-based Rocky Water Studios with Stuart Richardson (Thursday, No Devotion).
“We’ve always considered ourselves an Alternative Rock band because we all have so many influences that we put into our music, like Led Zeppelin, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Incubus, Foo Fighters, and Nirvana mixed can be heard in our music with our twist adding elements of pop, soul, R&B, and even country,” said Burton.
In 2020, the band took a break due to the Covid epidemic. During that time, Brian decided to step away from the band for personal reasons and focus on his family and career.
The group decided it was time to move forward and search for a new bass player. They had jammed with Richard Garrahan the year prior for an Incubus cover show and asked Rich if he had an interest in joining the group. After a couple of jam sessions, Rich said yes and became Zeddemore’s new bass player.
John was also jamming with a piano/synth player, Brendan Hasson, and after a few sessions, Brendan jammed with the whole band and joined the group as the piano/synth player.
“We are very close to releasing our album, which will include songs from our EP and singles we released. We plan on getting back into the recording studio next year and debuting some new songs mid-Spring. We all have families, so it’s hard to be a touring band but we love writing and recording music, and playing shows, so you’ll definitely be seeing more of us next year.”
The 36th annual Space Coast State Fair, Brevard’s largest and most popular annual family event, is set for November 4-20 at Space Coast Daily Park in Viera.
The fair offers a tremendous Pay-One-Price value every day and night – pay just $25 (Tuesdays – Thursdays) or $30 (Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays) at the gate and all unlimited rides and shows are included from open to close.
A special VIP FAST-PASS will be available for $10 more, which includes all the rides and allows the VIP to enter rides at the FAST-PASS, avoiding the regular lines at the rides.
Loved by thousands of Central Floridians, come and see why the Space Coast State Fair is a must-see tradition on Florida’s Space Coast.
