TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College men’s cross country team will compete for a national title Saturday when they run at the NJCAA Division I National Championships at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee.

Eastern Florida State College is competing for a national championship in its first season of competition.

The Titans topped Seminole State College for the title to advance to the NJCAA Division I National Championships on Nov. 12 as freshman Dayton Law won the individual title, finishing first in the Division I race with a time of 26 minutes, 38.30 seconds in the 8K race.

Teammates Gabriel Garcia (27:30) and Charlie Dickinson (27:36) placed second and third respectively, it was Garcia’s personal best this season. Josh Ingalls placed sixth overall with a 28:35 and Nicholas Spence placed eighth with a 29:31.

“The guy’s team was very competitive this season with a number of major programs and we will only get better,” Eastern Florida State College men’s cross country coach Doug Butler said.

“We lost one of our top five guys last week so everyone has to step up big if we hope to crack the top 15 Saturday. It’s a great goal and one that is reachable with a good day by our top 5.”

The men’s cross country team national championship race will begin at noon Saturday in Tallahassee.
