FHP: Cocoa Beach Man, 65, Killed After Being Struck By Pickup Truck on U.S. Hwy. 1

The Florida Highway Patrol reports that a 65-year-old Cocoa Beach pedestrian was he struck and killed by a pickup truck after walking into the southbound lanes of U.S. 1 Wednesday night near Port St. John.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – The Florida Highway Patrol reports that a 65-year-old Cocoa Beach pedestrian was he struck and killed by a pickup truck after walking into the southbound lanes of U.S. 1 Wednesday night near Port St. John.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the male victim attempted to cross U.S. 1 , not in a marked crosswalk, near Broadway Boulevard at about 5:50 p.m., and walked into the path of a Chevy Silverado traveling in the southbound lanes.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the truck was uninjured and remained at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
