BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The National Weather Service said a Flood Watch will be in effect starting Wednesday 7 a.m. EST through Thursday at 1 p.m. EST. Rainfall amounts of 4 inches to 6 inches with locally higher amounts of 8 inches along the coast and 2 to 4 inches with locally higher amounts across the interior will be possible.

Showers and gusty winds are already impacting the Space Coast. The window to complete preparations is closing, so make sure to finish tonight.

The National Hurricane Center issued a Hurricane Warning for Brevard County as Tropical Storm Nicole is forecast to strengthen Tuesday nightand Wednesday as it approaches Brevard, and is expected to be a Category 1 hurricane when it makes landfall between Melbourne and Cocoa Beach Wednesday night.

Threats will increase as Nicole approaches.
