Patrick Mahomes Ties With Dan Marino as Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback Continues Remarkably Consistent Career

There quite simply isn’t a more consistent performer in the NFL today than Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and he’s notched up another milestone in his already impressive career.

The 27-year-old, who is now into his sixth NFL season, has just thrown over 300 yards for the 37th time in his career, and that ties him with the great Dan Marino in terms of the number of times this has been achieved within a player’s first seven seasons.

Mahomes has hit this mark in 73 games while Marino took 101 starts to reach the same number, which goes some way to showing just how much the Kansas City Chiefs star has already achieved.

The odds on Mahomes securing a second Super Bowl title, having previously won at Super Bowl LIV, are very much in his favor, and any sports betting enthusiast looking to make such a bet would do well to check out Sidelines, where you can benefit from the site’s odds comparison services and overall betting guides ahead of your big bet.

The Chiefs’ latest win, a 26-10 victory over reigning Super Bowl winners the Los Angeles Rams, is the fifth in a row for Andy Reid’s side, and at 9-2, Kansas City look like safe bets to ease into the play-offs, and they currently sit top of the AFC.

Though a lot of the plaudits for their current run of form are laid at Mahomes feet, he has been keen to point out that others at the franchise offer a great deal of support to his efforts, stating;

“I mean, they did a good job,”

“At the end of the day, they’ve got great players. They still have a great defense over there. They did a great job of kind of passing off crossers down there. They were in the right spots where I wanted to go. They had a good game plan. I have to find ways to execute at a higher level, get it to those guys in space, and when we do have chances, we have to make sure we get in the end zone.”

And there is a sense that Mahomes wants to avoid any understandable complacency that may creep in as the regular season draws to a close;

“We learned that you’ve just got to continue to push,”

“You can’t be satisfied with where you’re at. We scored a lot of points in that first half and went in thinking we were just kind of going to coast to the Super Bowl, but they’re a team that’s going to fight. They’re going to fight until the very end, and that’s why they were in the Super Bowl. We have to make sure that we go in with two great halves of football and however long it takes.”

Next up for the Chiefs are the Cincinnati Bengals, followed by seemingly easy games against the Denver Broncos and the Houston Texans, which may help provide Kansas City with a continued winning spell, especially if Mahomes continues to thrive.
