BCSO: Shooting appears to be targeted attack on vehicle occupants

Brevard County Sheriff’s agents are investigating an incident in which a 15-year-old girl was shot while riding in a car on Friday in unincorporated Cocoa at around 2:30 p.m. According to Tod Goodyear, spokesman for the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting happened near the intersection of State Road 520 and Clearlake Road.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA –  Brevard County Sheriff’s agents are investigating an incident in which a 15-year-old girl was shot while riding in a car on Friday in unincorporated Cocoa at around 2:30 p.m.

According to Tod Goodyear, spokesman for the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting happened near the intersection of State Road 520 and Clearlake Road.

Goodyear said agents think the shooting was a targeted attack on some of the occupants in the vehicle.

No other injuries were reported.

The victim, who has not yet been identified, was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Goodyear said no arrests have been made, and the shooting continues to be investigated.
