Brevard County Fire Rescue and Melbourne Fire Department personnel participated in a Structural Collapse Operations class this past week. National Rescue Consultants provided the instructors and equipment and Brevard County Fire Rescue provided the location and some of the materials. (BCFR image)

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard County Fire Rescue and Melbourne Fire Department personnel participated in a Structural Collapse Operations class this past week.

National Rescue Consultants provided the instructors and equipment and Brevard County Fire Rescue provided the location and some of the materials.

Having this personnel certified in Structural Collapse Operations assists with expanding the Technical Rescue Team.

To provide you with some context on what the course is about, the below description was taken from the website of National Rescue Consultants:

“The Structural Collapse Rescue Operations course is designed to provide the participant with the skills and knowledge required to perform rescues at structural collapse incidents resulting from natural disasters or terrorist incidents utilizing appropriate equipment, methodologies, protocols, and patient and resource management techniques.”
