By  //  December 22, 2022

In the western group of the Lesser Antilles in the Caribbean Sea, Bonaire is a flat, riverless island within the Kingdom of Netherlands that is renowned for its dive spots. It is 20 miles to the east of Curaçao and 50 miles from the Venezuelan shore. Payment of the Bonaire tourist tax is a requirement for all visiting tourists.

Visitors must pay the Bonaire Tax, which is applicable to non-residents. Residents of Bonaire are exempt from the tourist tax, but they must provide identification that demonstrates their residency. This visitation charge is applicable to children under the age of 12. However, compared to individuals above the age of 13, their visitation tax is much lower.

According to statistics of Bonaire for the year 2021, more than 29 thousand visitors arrived by air in the first half, whereas 82 thousand tourists arrived in Bonaire in the second half of the year. (Source: statista.com)

Bonaire is the place to go if you’re looking for a peaceful vacation, a positive travel experience, or something a little more exciting. Statistics show that Bonaire was ranked No. 4 on a global list of well-known islands (Source: blog.diviresorts.com).

The must-see locations in Bonaire we will highlight in this article are Sorobon Beach and Bari Reef, for their exotic beaches and numerous marine life.

Sorobon Beach

The most beautiful and famous beach in Bonaire is Sorobon Beach. Due to an offshore reef that shields this inlet from strong winds and waves from the Caribbean Sea, its waters are tranquil.

This vacation spot is ideal for families because of the calm, shallow waves, lovely beach, and different facilities like lanais that provide shelter. This beach invites everyone to enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the gorgeous Lac Bay lagoon, and its magnificent white-sand beach offers swimming and windsurfing.

Bari Reef

The Bari Reef, close to Kralendijk town, is one of Bonaire’s best and most well-known tourist attractions. For fish diversity, it is among the best Caribbean locations. There are about 300 distinct species on the reef.  When visitors enter the water, they will definitely get a unique, once-in-a-lifetime experience.
