Officials in Brevard County are advising residents that a 100-acre prescribed fire within the Fox Lake Sanctuary is taking place today.

BREVARD COUNTY • MIMS, FLORIDA – Officials in Brevard County are advising residents that a 100-acre prescribed fire within the Fox Lake Sanctuary is taking place today.

The Fox Lake Sanctuary is located at 4400 Fox Lake Rd, Titusville.

The burn will be conducted due north of Fox Lake Park boat ramp.

Prescribed burn, or controlled burning, is a technique used in forest management, farming, or prairie restoration.
