BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – A 150-acre prescribed fire within the Grant Flatwoods Sanctuary is being held today by Brevard County’s Environmentally Endangered Lands Program, officials announced on Thursday.

The Grant Flatwoods Sanctuary is located at 2800 Micco Rd.

Prescribed burn, or controlled burning, is a technique used in forest management, farming, or prairie restoration.
