BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard Zoo’s Sea Turtle Healing Center celebrated its 200th sea turtle release at Lori Wilson Park on Wednesday.

The Sub-adult green sea turtle “Hope” was returned to the water following a two-month rehabilitation stint at the Sea Turtle Healing Center.

“Thank you to those of you who joined us to mark this special occasion – we “Hope” you had a great time!” said a Brevard Zoo spokesperson.

Hope is a sub-adult green sea turtle found in Indian River County. Our Healing Center actually receives about 18 percent of its patients from this county!

Volunteers with Coastal Connections, a nonprofit that protects sea turtles and their habitats, responded to Hope’s stranding and brought them to the Healing Center on November 19 – helped partly by the Sea Turtle Preservation Society.
