Members of Palm Bay Fire Rescue, Malabar Fire Department Complete Live Fire Training Certification

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Fourteen members of Palm Bay Fire Rescue, along with one Malabar Fire Department lieutenant, completed their Live Fire Training Instructor Certification.

The 40-hour class includes all aspects of conducting safe, NFPA-compliant, live fire training for firefighters.

According to a Palm Bay Fire spokesperson, the last day involved 6 live burns.

“This type of realistic training is an integral part of assuring that members remain ready to deal with any real-life structure fires,” said a Palm Bay Fire spokesperson.

More training will be readily available with the help of Palm Bay Fire Rescue’s new LFTI’s at our new burn building training facility located at Fire Station 5.

“Great job to all, and good luck on the state test!” said Palm Bay Fire Rescue.
