BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA—Anne Coble Voss of Palm Bay, Florida passed away on January 26, 2023 with her family by her side, reading notes and holding the phone for loved ones around the world as she closed her eyes to be with the Lord.

Anne is survived by her husband Harold “Dobi” Lloyd Voss and children Daniel (wife Heather), Sarah Wagner (husband Jeff) and their children Drew and Claire, and Jordan (wife Amy) and their children Henry and Lila; and her sister Becky Coble.
Anne, besides being loved by family, friends and colleagues, was an extremely accomplished woman. She graduated from the Ohio State University in 1968 in Medical Dietetics and immediately got a job at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.

After returning to Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, she married Harold and joined him as a deployed Army Officer. She became a Professor at Otterbein University, as well as Ohio State and helped the Wellington School grow while continuing to raise her sons and daughter.

She worked for a research lab in The OSU College of Medicine where her hard work led to her listing in “Who’s Who in the World” for her discovery of the “de novo” biosynthetic pathway of the Omega-3 fatty acid docosahexaenoic acid, important in the development of the brain and retina in newborn babies.
She then worked in membership services of the YWCA of Columbus.

Her expertise, research acumen and leadership helped secure a position with Abbott Labs. Anne’s passion led her to be able to share her talents for team building, research, product development and health care with people across the world.

She was also instrumental in providing the clinical data to support Abbott’s largest brand, Ensure, as well as wound healing brand, Juven. Recognizing her tremendous contributions, Abbott Labs elected Dr. Voss to the Volwiler Society, their pinnacle organization for research scientists.

Additionally, Anne received two President’s awards during her tenure with Abbott Labs.
After “retiring” Anne continued consulting for Abbott Labs and accepted positions as Visiting Professor at the University of Alberta, Edmonton and as part of the advisory commission at Kaiser University in Melbourne, Florida.
