recognize those kids in our community that “do it right”

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – This past week, our agency proudly recognized MILA Elementary School student, Izabelle Ritter, as the most recent recipient of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office “Great Kid” Award.
The “Sheriff’s Great Kid” Award was created by our agency to recognize those kids in our community that “do it right.”
Unfortunately, our Law Enforcement Officers and Teachers spend a lot of their time dealing with kids that don’t do it right, so our agency created the “Sheriff’s Great Kid” Award to highlight those who display character, volunteerism, academics, patriotism, and just all out great qualities.
Izabelle started at MILA Elementary School two years ago and at the time was not very fond of attending a new school.
Since then, she has become a proud member of the team and takes part in so many different activities, that she was nominated by Brevard County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer, Corporal Carrie Pyne for this award.
Carrie and the staff at MILA have watched Isabelle grow into an amazing young lady who spends all of her free time helping other students.
Over the course of the past two years, Izabelle has started volunteering more in the classroom, helping other students achieve their own personal goals, both in and out of the classroom, and also volunteers at various places throughout our community, including the library.
Izabelle is consistently showing generosity and compassion for her fellow classmates and community, and aspires to one day be a teacher, so she can continue to help kids.
Please join me in congratulating Izabelle for being a “Great Kid” and also in congratulating her parents who make certain that Izabelle is doing it right.
I would also like to thank MILA Elementary School Principal, Dr. O’Brien, and BCSO Cpl. Carrie Pyne for submitting Izabelle for this well-deserved award.
