City of Melbourne Set for New Security Service at City Hall Parking Garage Starting February 23

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The City of Melbourne City Hall parking garage will be staffed by a security guard starting Thursday, February 23.

Security guards will be on duty Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings.

The security guard will be stationed at the booth at the vehicle entrance to the garage and will perform periodic walk-throughs of stairwells and will patrol each level of the garage and the immediate area surrounding the garage.

The security guard will provide services during the following hours:

■ Thursday, 6 p.m. to Friday, 1 a.m.

■ Friday, 8:30 p.m. to Saturday, 3 a.m.

■ Saturday, 8:30 p.m. to Sunday, 3 a.m.

Security Operations and Solutions will be providing the security guard service and will work with the Melbourne Police Department to improve safety in the parking garage during the late evening and early morning hours after downtown entertainment establishments close.

Future security enhancements include the installation of cameras in the garage and garage stairwells.
