BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – With Congressman Bill Posey’s (R-Rockledge) support, the House passed legislation (H.R. 139) to terminate telework policies which federal agencies put in place during the pandemic allowing federal employees to work remotely from home.

According to the Office of Personnel Management, about 47 percent of the federal workforce is still working remotely.

“Over the course of the pandemic, telework policies have created backlogs that have led to diminished agency responsiveness and customer service which have understandably created frustrating situations for constituents who need timely assistance,” said Congressman Posey.

“Constituents often tell me when they call my office, they are surprised their call is answered by a human being on the other end of the line. Getting stuck in lengthy automated phone menus while making little progress on your concern has become the norm – and that needs to end. Terminating the pandemic-era telework policies will help tackle backlogs and better serve taxpayers.”
