The Titans shot a 5-over 293 and are tied with Mississippi Gulf Coast for the lead. Central Alabama Community College is in third place, four strokes behind.

Freshman Adam Vermut led the way for the Titans, shooting an opening round of 68, and is in the lead for the individual title, two strokes ahead of teammate Brandon Boncore.

The sophomore shot a 2-under 70. Nicholas Miller, making his first start with the Titans, shot a 76 while Pontus Torgner had a 79 and Robert Greninger shot an 81.

“Awesome round by Adam Vermut and Brandon Boncore. Putting greens are incredibly difficult and everyone has their issues with them,” Eastern Florida State College men’s golf coach Jamie Howell said.
