BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College women’s golf team will begin the spring season in St. Augustine Monday morning.

The Titans will tee off at the Slammer & Squire course at the World Golf Village for the Flagler World Golf Invitational which will feature 15 teams, most NCAA Division II schools with five teams ranked in the top 15 in the NCAA Division II ranking.

“It is definitely a course that you need to pay attention to your short game,” sophomore Morela Boyd, who was an All-American last season.

It is the first of three events in February as the women’s golf team begins a busy spring season.

“I think it just keeps us more prepared to play well. Christmas break was a time to relax and now everyone is getting back to playing and getting into a routine and preparing us to play our best every time out,” sophomore Kira Shellman said.

The Titans will tee off at 8 a.m. in the first round.

Eastern Florida State College went to the NJCAA Division I National Championship Tournament last season and finished sixth overall. The team has five players back that played in the national tournament back for this season.
