Eastern Florida State College’s Isimenme Ozzy-Momodu, Zach Taylor Named Athletes of the Week

Ozzy-Momodu had double-doubles in both victories this week
BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – A pair of Eastern Florida State College student-athletes helped their teams to good weeks and are the Orlando Health Student-Athletes of the Week for the week ending February 4.
Women’s basketball player Isimenme Ozzy-Momodu had double-doubles in both of the team’s victories this week.
Against Daytona State College, the forward scored 17 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in a win, and then on Saturday the Titans hosted St. Petersburg College where she scored 14 points and had 13 rebounds.
The freshman from London, England is averaging 10.4 points and 9.5 rebounds per game in 19 games off the bench for the Titans.
Baseball player Zach Taylor had some big at-bats this week for the Titans, hitting .571 in three games with eight runs batted in, scored a couple of runs and stole a base.
Against the Florida State College at Jacksonville, the outfielder came up in the top of the ninth inning and hit a ball over the wall to tie the game for the Titans. Eastern Florida State College would end up winning the game.
The sophomore from Viera is hitting .462 with nine RBI and five runs scored.
The women’s basketball team and the baseball team are both home this week.
The women will host the Florida State College at Jacksonville on Wednesday evening. Tip-off is 5:30 p.m. at Titan Field House.
The baseball team will be at Bruce Bochy Field three times this week, playing No. 4 College of Central Florida on Monday at 4 pm., Palm Beach State College on Wednesday at 5 p.m., and then Hillsborough Community College Friday at 1 p.m.
