Illinois Man Arrested by Cocoa Beach Police After Attempting to Enter Hotel Rooms

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – Cocoa Beach Police have arrested 21-year-old Illinois man Monday morning for allegedly attempting to enter hotel rooms.

Elian Martinez, 21, of Illinois, was taken into custody early Monday morning, February 13, at about 1:30 a.m. for allegedly attempting to enter hotel rooms at the Sea Aire Oceanfront Inn, located at 181 N. Atlantic Ave.

Cocoa Beach Police Officers Emilio Rosa and Javier Miranda-Carreras responded to the hotel after receiving a call of an individual trying door handles of the units.

Martinez was located on the hotel property, and upon seeing the officers, attempted to leave and failed to comply with commands to stop.

Martinez was ultimately arrested without incident for Loitering and Prowling and Resisting Arrest, then transported to the county jail.
