Melbourne Police Identify Pedestrian Killed in Fatal Crash on Sarno Road

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police have released more information about a deadly crash involving a pedestrian near the 2800 block of Sarno Road.
Police say the crash happened on February 3 when officers responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a 2019 gray Chevrolet Equinox and a pedestrian.
The pedestrian killed in the crash has been identified as 61-year-old Ralph Darby from Melbourne.
The investigation has revealed the Chevrolet Equinox was traveling eastbound on Sarno Road in the outside travel lane, passing another vehicle while the pedestrian darted southbound across Sarno Road into the path of both vehicles when the Equinox struck the pedestrian as he attempted to cross the outside travel lane.
Police say neither drugs, nor alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this crash on part of the driver.
The crash is still under investigation.
