BREVARD COUNTY • PATRICK SPACE FORCE BASE, FLORIDA – Lt. Col. Bethany Ransier took command of the 920th Maintenance Squadron from Maj. Jaime Sciarrino during a change of command ceremony held here on Feb. 4.

The change of command is a military tradition that formally signifies the transfer of responsibility and authority from one commanding officer to another; symbolized through the passing of a guidon.

Col. George Cole, 920th Maintenance Group commander, presided over the ceremony and acknowledged the determination, hard work, and high value that the 920th MXS has for the mission.

“For the second year in a row, we have been named the highest-performing maintenance group in the command. Once again you have proven that I can always count on the 920th Maintenance Squadron to complete the task correctly and on time. Your self-sacrifice ensures the success of the wing’s mission,” said Cole.

Upon taking command, Ransier took the podium and reiterated the importance of the 920th MXS’s role and spoke to how she plans to continue the squadron’s success and to guide the maintainers.

“For the short time I’ve been working here I have already seen a tremendous effort that is required to make this mission happen. The mission of the 920th MXS is truly critical and I will ensure that we remain effective, trained, and well taken care of,” said Ransier. (920th Rescue Wing image)
