Threats were made to the schools on Monday and Tuesday, police say

Police have arrested a 14-year-old student after police received numerous threats to Heritage and Palm Bay High Schools on Monday and Tuesday.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Police have arrested a 14-year-old student after Palm Bay Police and Melbourne Police received numerous threats to Heritage and Palm Bay High Schools earlier this week.

Through investigative measures from Palm Bay Police and Melbourne Police, a 14-year-old student was identified and later arrested today.

The student has been charged with multiple counts of making false reports concerning planting a bomb or use of firearms, making writing or electronic threats to do violence and disruption of a school function.

“The Palm Bay Police Department takes all threats to our schools seriously and will use any and all means to criminally charge anyone who makes them,”said a Palm Bay Police spokesperson

“The safety of our students is our primary focus and our agency will have zero tolerance for threats of any kind.”
