62-Year-Old Melbourne Beach Man Killed in Pedestrian vs Vehicle Crash on Babcock St.

A 62-year-old Melbourne Beach man was struck and killed on Monday by a vehicle near the area of Babcock Street and Seminole Avenue.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – A 62-year-old Melbourne Beach man was struck and killed on Monday by a vehicle near the area of Babcock Street and Seminole Avenue.

The man is identified as Michael J. Forrest.

Upon arrival, officers discovered Forrest had been struck by a white sport utility vehicle that was traveling northbound on Babcock Street.

The white sport utility vehicle stopped and then fled the crash scene without rendering aid, last seen traveling westbound on Seminole Avenue from Babcock Street.

Authorities say the vehicle that fled the scene of the crash is a 2014-2016 white Jeep Compass. Investigators say the vehicle may have damage to the driver-side fog light and headlight.

Forrest was transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center with serious injuries where he later died from his injuries.
