This event will take place on April 1, 2023, at The Center for Space Education

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Astronauts Memorial Foundation, in partnership with Epic Flight Academy, is providing one student who attends the Career and Networking Event on April 1 a full $30,000 scholarship to become an FAA-certified airframe and powerplant (A&P) aviation mechanic (also known as an AMT – aviation maintenance technician). This program can lead to careers in the aerospace industry.
The scholarship covers tuition and materials for the 19-month program, valued at $30,000. This includes five courses, books, tools, materials, and three FAA written exams.
This event is open to high school juniors and seniors, college/university students, recent high school graduates, and recent college/university graduates.
This event will take place on April 1 at The Center for Space Education at Kennedy Space Center.
Attendees will meet with major organizations, like NASA, Microsoft, Jacobs, Lockheed Martin, L3Harris, Space Perspective, and many more, in a Career Exhibit Hall. They will have the opportunity to submit their resumes to some of these major organizations.
This event is open to students with all interests – a common misconception about the aerospace and technology industries is that one must be an engineer to land a career at Kennedy Space Center.
The reality is these industries need everyone. Not only do aerospace and tech companies need engineers and scientists…they need journalists, communicators, administrative personnel, welders, pipe-fitters, plumbers, educators, doctors, biologists, and more.
