Four Florida Tech Swimmers Earn College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Honors

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech’s men’s swimming team had four scholar-athletes named to the College Sports Communicators 2022-23 Academic All-District Men’s Swimming and Diving team.
The 2022‐23 Academic All‐District® Men’s Swimming & Diving Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student‐athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom.
The four men earning the CSC All-District Honors are Daniel Aizenberg, Robert Catron, Max Martino, and Connor Orth.
Daniel Aizenberg took home first place at this year’s SSC Championships and qualified for the 2023 NCAA Championships in the 50 Freestyle, 100 & 200 Backstroke, 100 Fly and 400 Medley. The Maale Adumim, Israel native is currently studying Global Management and Finance in his senior year at Florida Tech.
Catron is working towards his master’s in electrical engineering, focusing on wireless communications and systems. This season, Catron finished with a total of five top-five finishes throughout the course of the regular season.
Martino this season finished with a total of 13 top ten finishes including a win against Lynn in the 50-yard freestyle. Currently, Martino is pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Connor Orth helped the Panthers qualify for the NCAA Championships in the 400 Medley relay and will be part of the team traveling to Indianapolis to compete in Indianapolis at the 2023 Swimming and Diving NCAA Championships. Orth has recorded six top-five finishes this season. The San Jose, Cal. Native is currently pursuing a degree in Marine Biology.
As an Academic All-District selection, the four men are now a candidate for the 2022-2023 NCAA Division II Academic All-America Men’s Swimming Team. Academic All-America will be announced in late-March.
